Big Time Rush (also known as BTR) is an American pop group created by NickelodeonViacom Music and TV Productions, that signed a record deal in 2009, and was made known by the American television series, Big Time Rush. The series revolves around four best friends as they record their debut album, as well as chronicles their troubles and fun along the way.
They rose to fame with their 2009 debut digital single, Big Time Rush. The song was used as the theme song for the series, also titled Big Time Rush. The show saw the release of several other digital singles, such as Any Kind of Guy, Halfway There, and Famous. In 2010, the boys released a new song titled Til' I Forget About You, and announced it as a promotional single for their debut album. The album, titled B.T.R. was released on October 11, 2010. Met with generally positive reviews, it debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200album's chart in the US. The album also topped the Top Soundtracks as well as the Kid Albums chart in the US. it was certified Gold in April 2011 for sales of over 500,000 copies shipped to the U.S. The group was the first act from Nickelodeon to have a certified album.
In 2010, the band was nominated for "Favorite International Band" at the Australian Kids Choice Awards and in 2011 Again for "Favorite TV Show". They were also nominated again for the U.S. Kids Choice Awards for the first time in the categories for "Favorite TV Show & Favorite Music Group" in 2011.

He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Kent and Kathy Schmidt. He is the youngest of three. His brothers are Kenneth Schmidt and Kevin Schmidt who starred in hit film, '"Cheaper by the Dozen", "Cheaper by the Dozen 2", and 'Princess Protection Program. Schmidt started singing at the age of 5.
Career
Schmidt began his acting career at age six, appearing in a Chex television commercial. When he was 10 years old, he was one of three young actors who was hired to be Haley Joel Osment's stand-in and body double (they shared the same agent) in the Steven Spielberg film,A.I. Artificial Intelligence.[1] He celebrated his birthday on the set, and Spielberg and the cast surprised him with a birthday cake decorated with Star Wars figures.[1] Schmidt also appeared in Ghost Whisperer.
In mid 2009, Schmidt was cast in the Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush as one of the four main characters, Kendall Knight. The show premiered to a record breaking 7.1 million total viewers, making it the highest rated premiere for a live action series in Nick history.

Logan Philip Henderson[1] (born September 14, 1989)[2] is an American actor, dancer, rapperand singer. He is best known for his starring role as Logan Mitchell on the Nickelodeon series,Big Time Rush, as well as being a member of the Big Time Rush band itself. He also appeared in Season 2, episode 12 of Friday Night Lights, titled "Who Do You Think You Are".Logan Phillip Henderson was born in North Richland Hills, Texas (near Dallas).[3][4
Career
Henderson had a small role as a bully on the television program Friday Night Lights[5] before moving to California at the age of 18, to pursue his acting career.[3]

Carlos Roberto Pena, Jr. (born August 15, 1989)[2] is an American actor, dancer and singer. He is best known for starring on the Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush as Carlos García.Pena was born in Columbia, Missouri.[1][3] He was raised in Weston, Florida.[2][4] He attendedSagemont Upper School.[1] He appeared in local productions of Grease and Man of La Mancha.[1] He also had a role in the American Heritage School, where he attended before leaving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, production of Titanic.[4][5] During his run in Titanic he fell in love with singing and dancing.[4]
Career
His first major role was a guest shot at age 15 on ER, followed later that year by guest-starring roles on Judging Amy, Summerland, and Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.[3][4][5][6]
While still in high school, Pena appeared in television commercials for the Super Soaker brand recreational water gun, and his image even appeared on the toy's packaging.[2]
Pena was studying musical theater at the Boston Conservatory when his manager urged him to audition for Big Time Rush.[2] Although he was reluctant to do so, he submitted an audition tape and won the role a month later.[2] Pena moved to Hollywood in August 2009.

James David Maslow (born July 16, 1990) is an American actor, singer, and dancer. He is best known for playing the role of James Diamond on Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush and is a member of the boy music group with the same name.Maslow was born in New York and raised in La Jolla, California.[1][2] At the age of six, Maslow began training as a singer when his parents placed him in the San Diego Children's Choir.[1][3]He attended La Jolla and Torrey Pines elementary schools, Muirlands Middle School, and San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts.[3] He had a small role in the San Diego Opera's production of La bohème when he was 10 years old.[3][4][5] He attended acting camp at the La Jolla Playhouse, got his first agent when he was 14, and performed as Marius in a production ofLes Misérables.[3] Quitting the School of Creative and Performing Arts mid-way through the 10th grade, Maslow switched to Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA). He graduated from CoSA in 2007 in the musical theater department.[3]

He made his television debut in 2008 as Shane in the iCarly episode, "iSaw Him First".[4] He also appeared in "urFRENZ" in 2009.
